A pollen ‘throwback’

The trisulcate pollen grain Pretricolpipollenites bharadwajii from Jordan has characterstics of much later Mesozoic pollen. We used light, scanning, and transmission electron microscopy to show that the ectexine includes a thick tectum, granular infratectum, and thin foot layer.
